MARCH 28, 2008 -
Grooming of our trails has continued through the week of 23 March 2008 and morning riding conditions are very good. Trails tend to soften in the afternoon with the warmer days.

ITS-83 from the Linneus/Oakfield turn-around to the West Branch bridge in Island Falls was fully groomed this week and is in top shape. Some minor drifting can be expected in the area of the wind tower monitors on Drews Mountain.

ITS-83A in Dyer Brook, an alternate trail, was last groomed on 13 March, 2008. The trail is now a little rough but certainly usable. It is unlikely that this trail will be groomed again this season.

Trail 61 from ITS-83 in Oakfield to Trails 81 and ITS-86 north of Smyrna was partially groomed on 26 March, 2008. A water hole about 1/2 mile north of US Rt. 2 in Smyrna presents a major problem and the Bombi groomer could not proceed beyond that point. The water hole has been made passable for snowmobiles and the remainder of the trail was groomed with a small 4 ft. drag. Other than the water hole this trail is in good condition.

Trail 64 from the Linneus turn-around in Oakfield to the intersection of Trail 61 in Oakfield was groomed on 26 March, 2008 and is in very good condition.

Trail 114 from ITS 83 in Dyer Brook to Knowles Corner was groomed on 26 March, 2008. This trail is in very good condition all the way through to ITS 85.

AN AUSTRATLIAN SHEPHERD BLUE MERLE DOG WITH BROWN EYES AND A RED HARNESS HAS BEEN LOST AND WAS LAST SEEN ON THURSDAY, 27 MARCH 2008 ON SMOKI HAULERS TRAIL 64 IN OAKFIELD. LAST SIGHTING WAS NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF TRAIL 64 AND CONNECTOR TRAIL 61. PLEASE REPORT ANY INFORMATION TO CHRIS AT 540-2403.

MARCH 14, 2008 -
Grooming of our trails resumed on March 10 after a delay for major maintenance on our primary groomer.

ITS-83 from the Linnues/Oakfield turn-around to the West Branch bridge in Island Falls was groomed on March 10 and again on March 13. This trail is in top shape. Some minor drifting can be expected in the area of the wind tower monitors on Drews Mountain.

ITS-83A in Dyer Brook was freshly groomed on March 13 and is in very good condition.

Trail 61 from ITS-83 in Oakfield to Trails 81 and ITS-86 north of Smyrna was partially groomed on March 11. A water hole about 1/2 mile north of US Rt. 2 in Smyrna presents a major problem and no grooming was possible north of that point. The water hole had been made passable for snowmobiles, with caution. It may open up again with mild weather. Other than the water hole this trail is in good condition.

Trail 64 from the Linneus turn-around in Oakfield to the intersection of Trail 61 in Oakfield was groomed on Mrch 13, and is in very good condition with the exception of a few minor rough spots where water holes have been repaired.

Trail 114 from ITS 83 in Dyer Brook to Knowles Corner was groomed on March 13. This trail is in very good condition all the way through to ITS 85.
